EPOS cost guide
The honest answer: it depends on what your business needs. Here’s what goes into the price, so you can compare quotes like for like.

In short: every EPOS quote is built from six parts: hardware, software, support, set-up and training, card payments and the contract. A single café till and a multi-site bar group are very different jobs, so compare the whole picture, not the weekly headline price. Some options cost very little: Yes!Sensei is free while sales are under £5,000 a month, and event till hire is £50 a till per week or per event.
Once you know the six parts, you can see exactly what one supplier includes and another leaves out.
The till, receipt printer and cash drawer, plus any kitchen printers or screens, scanners and handhelds. Most suppliers let you buy outright or spread the cost.
Usually a monthly fee per till for the till software and cloud back office. Extras like loyalty or online ordering are added only if you need them.
When a till goes down on a Saturday night, support is what you’re paying for. Check the hours and whether the team is local. Ours is Belfast-based and 24/7.
Menus, prices, staff logins and reports all have to be built before you open. Ask whether programming and training are included or charged separately.
Card machines linked to the till speed up service. Compare terminal rental and transaction rates together, not one or the other.
Check the minimum term, notice period and yearly price rises. A low headline price with a long tie-in can cost more over time.
Put each quote side by side and check these six things. A cheap weekly price rarely includes all of them.
| Part | What to check |

| Support | Hours covered, and whether it’s a local team |
| Set-up and training | Included or charged separately |
| Card payments | Terminal rental plus transaction rates |
| Contract | Minimum term, notice period and yearly price rises |
